Dr. Carman Rabuka started studying cello at the age of four with John Payzant and the Suzuki program in Saskatoon. He became involved with the Strings and Youth Orchestra programs and later studied with Terrry Sturge. He completed his ARCT in cello performance prior to moving to Alberta to study with John Kadz at the Mount Royal College in Calgary after high school.
In 2007 Carman completed his studies at the U of S with a BSc and DMD and went on to complete a one-year general practice residency at VGH and UBC in Vancouver the following year.
Carman has had the privilege of joining many different artists from many different genres of music, both in touring and recording. In 2010 he performed in Nice, France as a piano trio ensemble called The Hemostatics. He has recorded with classical, punk, folk, rock and bluegrass bands from Canada and the U.S. He is currently in his 16th year with the Saskatoon Symphony.
Carman is proud to call Saskatoon home and enjoys his family and dental practice there. This past summer, Carman and his wife Esther welcomed their third daughter to the Rabuka clan. He enjoys spending time with his family fishing, biking and tobogganing down Diefenbaker hill with his girls.
